The last sling tweak on the 10/22.....

The BBT of happiness dropped these off yesterday: Uncle Mike's Super-Premium Lifetime Sling Swivels (Blued, 1-1/4-Inch Loop)  Couldn't find these on Uncle Mikes web site, but they are on Amazon.

I wanted the 1.25" sling points so I can use a standard GI canvas sling on the 10/22 for position shooting.   I've transitioned to that strip 'O cloth on everything I use a shooting sling on, and like it quite a lot.

Anyway.... these swivels..... I like them too.  A couple bucks more than regular, but the squared off design and firm positioning make them worth it to me.

I mounted the sling right away, and found a moment between thunder showers where I could run a few rounds offhand from the patio.  Sling use is perfect with these gadgets, and I am pleased.  Two Fat Man thumbs up.

I'll shoot it more today.... if the gentle breezes howling past at 40 mph allow me to.  Looking like 24 mph gusts for Saturdays Appleseed shoot.  This is going to be interesting!

Wait, I thought you were working the shoot. What's this thing called "instructors getting to shoot"? You must have a lenient Shoot Boss. :o)

I haven't worked a shoot in over a year. No WAY am I qualified right now. Nope. ... This time I am paying the fee and just being a regular shooter at the clinic. I need the refresher.

Besides, I want shoot next to #2 son.

Can I put my two cents in for becoming an NRA certified instructor? On the NRA website you can get the names of instructor trainers in your area. Cost is probaby around 200 bucks. But here is the cool part. YOU can the run basic NRA classes. You can charge if u wish to pay for the cost of putting it on. Plus as an NRA instructor u get discounts from a large number of gun and accessory manufacturers. Recently the NRA added online training for some certificates. I took the Range Safety Officer course a couple of months ago. Besides Appleseed what better way to grow the shooting world? To introduce new folks to our love.

I use those swivels on all my Appleseed rifles (7 at last count)but I only use the heavy duty on the front mount. the round ones are easier to separate from the "J" hook and only the front gets the heavy strain from the sling.

.45acp+p,

I left the standard sling attachment on the rear of this 10/22. My plan for the other 1.25" sling swivel is to fit it to the front mount on another rifle to be used at Appleseed, a CZ452 Trainer.

I like those swivels. I put them on my Savage Mk II. Haven't taken it to a CMP Rimfire Sporter competition. or an Appleseed yet. (I went to one about 6 years ago and my instructor did the Appleseed herself on a Savage Mark II. Her "Handle" was "Savage Shooter".
